Q: How can I have positive qualities?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: If you think you don’t have any positive qualities, you will never have them. Think that you have all the positive qualities – they are only taking a little time to manifest.
Q: How should a teacher be?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: There are two types of teachers.
The first kind includes those who believe in scolding and pointing out mistakes. This is a tamasic style. The second kind will tell you that you have all the positive qualities. Some people who are a little thick-skinned may need a little strictness.
Q. How is our life a holy scripture?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: All scriptures connect you with the Universal Spirit. The scriptures give you comfort, like an air conditioner (AC). The combination of knowledge and meditation is AC for the mind - Absolute Comfort.
Q. Is homosexuality wrong?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: It is a tendency. It can change anytime. It happens to many people. You are a combination of your mother and father. Sometimes the feminine energy dominates, and at some other times masculine energy dominates. Don’t blame yourself. Raise above all this and see yourself in the light of wisdom. You are not a piece of flesh. You are that scintillating consciousness. Identity yourself with the spirit, which is beyond any gender. You will find such a relief!
“That which you cannot express is Love.
That which you cannot reject/renounce is Beauty.
That which you cannot avoid is the Truth.”
